Overlooked by the imposing Chateau de Lanquais, the Plan d'Eau de Lanquais is a man-made lake and beach which offers a very pleasant day out for families with young children (ideally suited for kids between 3 and 13).Entrée au site est gratuit, mais en haute saison, vous aurez besoin de payer pour aller sur la plage de sable.

There are toilets and a cafe / snack bar on site.

Miniature Port "Le Ligal"

The real attraction is the miniature port where you can hire one of their miniature ships to sail around the lake. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Each turn lasts about 15 minutes and (in April 2009) cost €15 for our group (1 adult plus our 12, 9 and 3 year olds). Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, with only minor squabbling about who should steer!
